What we need:
We’re hiring an Assistant Superintendent to manage commercial interior build-outs for clients in Chicago and the
surrounding suburbs. Ideal candidates will have experience as a trade foreman for corporate interior jobs sites that
range from 15k-150k square feet, and have the ability to communicate clearly and promptly with subcontractors, vendors,
clients, and office staff.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Ideal candidates will have completed trade, vocational, or management programs in the construction industry and have 2+
years of experience in a trade supervisor role. Union affiliation is a plus, but is not required as this is a management
role.
- 2+ years’ experience as a trade foreman in the commercial interior construction industry
- Trade or vocational training in construction
- Proficient in Windows operating systems and associated software
- Proficient in Google Drive
- Experience working on smartphones and tablets
- CAD & Procore software experience a plus
Roles & Responsibilities
- Participate in weekly OAC meetings with Superintendent, Project Team, Architect & Client
- Perform site clean up, haul outs, and labor as required (within union regulations)
- Support Field Superintendents as required
- Provide job site setup and breakdown for site office, gang boxes, and site protection
- Communicate site and safety requirements to warehouse support
- Receive products on site and perform QA/QC checks, manage products for optimal site workflow
- Track, prepare, and report RFIs as directed by Superintendent/PM
- Act as a liaison with Chicago/Municipal building inspectors during inspections, schedule and track inspections on active sites as directed by Superintendent/PM

- Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 annually

We are working on a high volume of commercial projects this year and are looking for someone willing to dive in and get to work on day one.

Education
Must be an undergraduate going into their senior year, a recent graduate, or a graduate student, enrolled in or
graduating from a program studying construction management, architecture, or project management. Candidates should be
able to read construction drawings and specification sheets and communicate professionally with subcontractors, vendors,
and clients.

Candidates should have experience in managing highly detailed projects, and communicate professionally with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- 4-8 years of experience in a Project Management role
- Proficient in Windows operating systems and associated software

Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of communication and coordination between clients, design team, permitting agencies, subcontractors and internal team
- Develop & delegate tasks within internal project team
- Interface with and have a deep understanding of client relations
- Oversee profitability of projects under your management
- Perform subcontractor interviews and assist in developing standard subcontractor qualifications and criteria.
- Assist in the hiring process for future Project Engineers, Project Managers & Superintendents
- Lead scope review meetings with Superintendents and subcontractors and any additional project team members
- Knowledge of cost estimates for build-out projects, including labor, supplies, and materials, and ability to assist in preparation of estimates with project team
- Drive cost-effective project management techniques and strategies in the field

- Assign construction work in an efficient, agile way to keep project on time and within budget

- Coordinate all construction services and activities
- Maintain strict schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met

- Strong knowledge of NYC zoning, building codes, permitting, and city liaison processes
