2020 was a monumental year for everyone, and Chicago’s AEC industry was hit particularly hard by the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite those challenges, Redmond successfully navigated that turbulence and grew revenue by 43% in 2020 while maintaining headcount and growing personnel in Q1 2021. In 2020, Redmond was named the #1 fastest growing private construction company in Chicago by Inc. Magazine, and was ranked #535 on the Inc. 5000 list of all private companies nationwide. Redmond was also recognized to Crain’s Fast 50 in 2020, coming in 9th of all privately held companies in Chicago, and the fastest growing of any general contractor in Chicago. In 2021, Redmond was named to Crain’s Largest Privately-Held Companies, was named #12 on Crain’s 100 Best Places to Work for 2021, and has again been named to Crain’s Fast 50 for 2021.
With the market changing rapidly, Redmond’s inherent creative and agile culture was able to shine. During the second half of 2020 it became clear that it was time to lean into the company Redmond had become over the past eight years, and to embark on a rebrand that would showcase who Redmond is now and will be in the future. Over the last twelve months, Redmond has emerged as a leader in Chicago’s AEC industry and we’re extremely proud to introduce Redmond’s new brand.

Redmond worked closely with Chicago brand agency, Some Odd Pilot, to create our new brand identity and logo. We’re beyond grateful to their team for capturing Redmond’s culture in a way that is fresh, authentic, and unpretentious. Our new website is still under construction (no liquidated damages on that build, thankfully) , so stay tuned for that launch later this summer!
