The inaugural Building The Next Generation fundraiser took place in June of 2017 and established a scholarship fund at City Colleges of Chicago. The scholarship fund provides financial assistance and professional development for women in the Construction Management program at Kennedy-King College in Englewood. This year’s event will continue raising money for that scholarship fund, as well as funding a new initiative with Chicago Public School’s Career & Technical Education programs. The new CPS initiative will focus on expanding access to Construction & Architecture career pathways for high school students at schools in Chicago’s South and West side neighborhoods.
Our goal with both programs is to increase access to education and careers across Architecture, Engineering, and Construction, with an intentional focus on Chicago’s underrepresented and underemployed neighborhoods.
Let’s build a better future, together.
