Redmond was proud to once again participate in Women Build, and we were thrilled to surpass our fundraising goal yet again. Team Tool Time raised more than $9,000 and helped Habitat for Humanity crush its overall fundraising goal of $575,000. Women Build is hosted annually by Habitat for Humanity. The initiative brings together more than 600 women across Chicago to both fundraise for the organization and participate in a build day where teams help build a home. The goal is to break down the gendered systemic barriers to homeownership that exist for women, including the pay gap, credit access and uneven childcare responsibilities that limit time and financial resources. Funds raised are used to build Habitat for Humanity homes that are then purchased by women with affordable mortgages.
